Angela Morley

15 Kyte Road, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 5PJ Biography

I was brought up in a rural setting where I discovered the wonders of nature; I studied the wild flowers, collected fossils from the ploughed fields, foraged for wild fruits and fungi.

I studied sciences which led to a degree in Horticulture, I work as a horticulturist designing gardens and as a willow artist but those formative years in the countryside have never left me.

In 2003 I started to experiment with weaving natural materials and went to Art College.  Design, ecology and sustainability inform my work be it gardens or sculptural willow forms.

“I love the strength that comes from weaving individual twigs, I am reminded of the intricate web that binds all forms of life together”.
