Jane was introduced to weaving in 1999 whilst living in a remote part of New Zealand where she was taught how to weave Maori flax baskets. Since setting up her business in South Cumbria in 2001, Jane has worked weaving to commission and for exhibitions. She runs her own courses for all ages throughout the year, following themes that change with the seasons. She is a member of the Witherslack Artists and Makers group, which has a highly regarding annual exhibition in her home village every year. You will often find her demonstrating at local shows.
In 2014 Jane was awarded first prize in the “Basket of Year” competition, organised by the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers, for her English rush handbag.
