About me
Mary makes small woven non-functional decorative objects. Originally learning to make traditional willow baskets, an introduction to textile basketry and the suggestion to try some different materials took her making in a new direction. Working with fine flexible materials, she weaves using adapted traditional basketry techniques.

Currently Mary is developing her work, to combine her curiosity in the links between basketry and textiles, connecting with an interest in heritage and the use hand skills to visualise mathematical thinking.

Talks and Workshops
With a background in primary teaching, museum education and maths support teaching, Mary greatly enjoys running workshops and giving talks; sharing her enthusiasm for making and the passing on of skills. She has a particular interest in the maths in making and can offer talks and workshops that connect with both.

Talks and workshops available for adult groups, schools and educational events.
