The Old Brewery Studios, 51-53 West St, King's Cliffe, PETERBOROUGH, North Northamptonshire, PE8 6XB BiographyI originally became interested in weaving with willow because of the environmental aspects of the craft. In 1998 my husband and i met Joni Bamford and Terry Daunt. They both taught us how to grow, harvest and weave with willow. We were both hooked and still get great satisfaction from weaving with the materials we have grown.
I make contemporary baskets and non-figurative sculptural forms using our organically grown willows.
I have taught students at the Scottish Basketmakers Circle, Basketmakers Association Spring School in York and Harrogate, The City Lit and West Dean College.
In 2025 along with my daughter Jody and friend Tim Palmer we created the Woven Lives Podcast which is available on YouTube. We interview basketmakers with the aim of documenting their work and learn about the makers who inspired them. We hope this podcast will act as an archive for future generations of basketmakers.
In 2019 we moved into The Old Brewery Studios . We provide workshops here for students of all abilities. We also invite Basketmakers from UK and Europe to teach here, giving students the opportunity to learn from a variety of top quality makers.
