Maggie Evans

Since relocating to Anglesey I seemed to have come full circle in my creative life. Having studied woven textiles at uni and going on to teach art and design in secondary schools for quite a few years it wasn’t until I attend a weekend workshop with Mandy Coates that I discovered weaving with willow, followed by a short course with Felicity Irons weaving with rush.

 I work mainly with willow, rush and foraged materials to make both functional, traditional and innovative baskets, as well as decorative garden structures which are inspired by the colours, shapes and patterns of my varied local landscape of woods, beach and mountains.
