Y Dolydd unit U2, Llanfyllin, BiographyLiving in mid Wales, I've been working with willow for many years. I enjoy making traditional and innovative pieces, and have recently completed my level 2 City and Guilds in basketry.
I rent a studio at Y Dolydd in Llanfyllin, where I teach and produce my own unique baskets. I use local willow as well as Somerset varieties. Spending the winter months cutting and grading willow, and stripping willow in the summer months.
I have exhibited my willow in the Dolydd collaborating with a poet, Emily Wilkinson.
I am inspired by the colours in nature, the welsh hills, and organic shapes.
Willow is a beautiful, forgiving, abundant and tactile natural material. Sustainable and carbon capturing, making it important in all our futures.
