John Page
BiographyI am a teacher specialising in rushwork, rather than a basketmaker.
Since 2005 I have taught on, and from 2010 run, the two-year basketry course at the City Lit college in Holborn, London, as well as taught numerous short courses in rush, willow, cordage and looping, chairseating and who knows what.
My main focus is teaching techniques to give a solid grounding for future personal development.
I am happy to take commissions for rushwork and, if pressed, chair seating in rush, cane and Danish cord.
Repairing baskets is also an interest.
In the past I edited the BA newsletter and am a Yeoman member of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers and sit on their Trade Committee.
