The Truggery

The Truggery represents authentic Sussex craftsmanship rooted in Herstmonceux's woodworking tradition. Our trugs, handmade from willow and sweet chestnut, have served practical needs for centuries. 

Our passion is quality. We create trugs that can be enjoyed for generations to come. 

We honour traditional methods whole meeting modern values. We source willow from cricket bat production waste and harvest sweet chestnut from sustainability managed coppice woodlands. This circular approach ensures every materials serves multiple purposes. 

Built for longevity, not disposal. Each trug represents investment in lasting function- properly maintained, these pieces serve generations. This durability stems from traditional woodworking techniques and carefully selected materials.
