Living in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.Have been interested in basketmaking for a number of years, but only really started doing it on my own (not in specific classes) in the past year or two.Basket Likes: Wicker, willow, wood splits (ash, maple, etc), cane. Basket Dislikes: rope coils, anything that involves sewing (which is weird, because...see below)

Life-long textile nerd - anything that involves string of some kind, I've done it. Knitting, sewing, crochet, tatting, open-work embroidery...and the physics too (string theory - I'm hilarious!). It got me into theatre costuming, and historical re-enactment, and...Day-job in IT as an application developer - and yes there ARE things that the arts and STEM can learn from each other.
