cath abbott
BiographyI am Cath Abbott. I spent many years living a nomadic way of life on the road in the UK ,and had a dream of finding land and living a self sufficient low impact lifestyle,
my love of weaving started back in the late 90s whilst living on the road and brining up a family in a horse drawn wagon and needed to have a way of earning a living and selling wares from the side of the road.My journey with weaving continued in 2000 when i moved to dorset into a house and slowly built up my business, making very rustic baskets selling at farmers markets,
In 2002, i learnt to make a willow coffin by a lovely fella terry bensley from great yarmouth ,and there my coffin making business began and Cradle to Grave coffins was born.
I met Tosh Abbott in 2012 and we married and in 2018,bought a small plot of land where we now live and grow all our own willow and live an offgrid low impact way of life and have built workshops and a home here .
From the Cradle to the Grave, and everything inbetween ,we make willow products including baby cribs, shopping trolleys, shopping baskets, log and laundry baskets etc,re enactor baskets garden structures, and sell willow cuttings and surplus willow.
we run courses and invite familys to help weave their loved ones final resting beds (coffins )
