Oldbury, Birmingham, West Midlands, B68 Biography

For the last ten years, I have been a member of two reenactor groups, details of which can be found on my website.

Since retiring from secondary teaching, I have taught willow weaving to mostly children at weekends, asking for donations to a Worcestershire Cancer charity.  Most of what is made takes between 5 and 25 minutes, either working with their parents or me, once they have been shown how to help their child. A sample of what we make together is shown below. On my website, you will also see a 14-year-old in the process of weaving a basket and other items. The photographs were taken by her mother, who also attended the two-day event.

I reenact most weekends from April to the end of September. For several of the events, I teach how to make the decorative items and baskets. Maybe I will see you at Valhalla, Basingstoke or Fantasy Forrest, Studley Castle. Comments from members of the public who have woven the willow can be found on my website.
