Hazel Godfrey

I am a contemporary basketmaker. My inspiration comes from nature, landscape, and the human condition. I graduated in 2004 with a degree in Applied Arts - 3D Media and began working professionally with willow in 2008.

I have made commissioned work in willow on all scales for a variety of clients and organisations, also sculptural forms for interiors, as well as functional and decorative work for gardens.

I teach a range of beginners willow workshops, also short courses using a variety of natural materials to make creative and contemporary basketry.

Latterly my personal work has broadened to focus more on sculptural form and metaphor using natural materials and found items to create structures of interest and meaning.

I exhibit and make work for sale through galleries, fairs and from my studio.
