The Granary 7 Half Key Court, Half key, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR141UP BiographyMy basketmaking journey begain in 1991, making baskets in Cork, with Hans Mattes in Ballingery, harvesting Willow in Tallow with Martin O Flyn.
Back in UK, I started teaching friends in 1992 and teaching professionally for Charles Cordell of Acorn Activities in 1993, teaching at, Glastonbury, Big Green Gathering and in Malvern from the early 90's
I learnt basic weaves from books by Thomas Okey and Dorothy Wright, learning underfoot round and oval bases , with tuition from Joe Hogan to make square based hampers with hard corners.
34 years on I teach at home in the Malvern Hills with my partner Becky, we are both qualified teachers, we have built our own craft studio and teach Beginners Baskets almost every week, making large round baskets and Polish Foragers mainly in Flanders and Dicky Meadows.
We currently teach around 200 Beginners a year on 30 workshop days, 7 or 8 at a time maximum.
We have improver days making a square based trug with Scalloms and French handle.
We like heavier rods for uprights and use fine willows too.
We enjoy the creativity of weaving and particularly appreciate meeting people and helping customers learn a new craft.

We weave at festivals and events and can be found at Wychwood, Green Gathering, Greenbelt, End of the Road, to name a few.
