Katy Bremer
Cowdenbeath, Fife, BiographyI completed a beginners one-day course a few years ago, and since then, I have never stopped!
Except from my initial course, I am pretty much self - taught, having bought and borrowed many books on the subject and watched countless hours of online videos, then put them all into practise.
I studied contemporary art in college before having children, and now that I'm familiar with many weaves and techniques, my interests are veering towards more contemporary style projects, including masks and sculptural pieces.
I feel like I will always be in the learning and development stage of my basketry career, as well as now being at a stage where I can confidently sell my wares and take on commissions. I am very open to being more involved in the wider community, and would love to work on community projects with like-minded people who would share their knowledge, equally as much I would love to work with another weaver to bolster up and bounce ideas off each other!
I can teach beginners - 1 on 1 or up to a group of three at my home workshop, or I can travel and teach larger groups at larger spaces.
Please get in touch if my courses or baskets interests you
