Kirstie O’leary

I have worked with willow for many years, engaging with the craft intermittently; however, since 2022 I have made a clear commitment to developing my practice and have undertaken a sustained period of focused, in-depth exploration. During this time, I have refined both my technical skills and my understanding of traditional and contemporary approaches to willow work.

Alongside my personal practice, I now deliver workshops for adults from my home, creating a welcoming and supportive environment in which participants can engage with the craft. I also undertake commissioned work, producing bespoke pieces that reflect both functional and aesthetic considerations.

More recently, I have begun learning scuttle work basketry, a highly skilled and heritage craft that I am particularly drawn to. I am keen to continue building my knowledge and proficiency through further training and dedicated practice.
