Hafod Y Cwm, Ffordd Y Cwm, Nannerch, Mold, Flintshire, CH7 5RU BiographyI began making baskets when I was out of work and I never looked back. Now based in the Clwydian Hills in North Wales my time is divided between making and teaching, including at the Ruthin Craft Centre.
I love making functional baskets that become part of people's everyday lives. My work draws on English and Continental methods, combining techniques to make strong baskets that last a lifetime and celebrate the natural colours and textures of willow.
My passion is keeping traditional and heritage baskets alive. I'm proud to make and teach the Welsh Cyntell. Following years of practice and perseverance, I have mastered the art of making the French Perigord, connecting basketry and horticulture.
I teach all levels of basketry from complete beginners, those just wanting to make a basket for their own use, and those wishing to progress as basket makers and build their skills. It's a joy to share a love of basketry.
I make to commission and teach 1:1 as well as my scheduled workshops.
