Matt Edwards
BiographyI am a Sussex based designer and qualified garden designer (MEYOU Garden & Landscape Design) and craftsperson and use my extensive practical knowledge and academic qualifications to design and realise private and public spaces and natural material sculptures.
With a group of fellow designers, we were recently awarded a gold medal and People's Choice Award at the South of England Show 2026 for our show garden "Refugia".
I have taught and run workshops at every age level from primary, secondary, sixth form, further, higher and adult education.
I have designed permeant exhibitions for Battle Museum and Newhaven Fort. And I have also won awards for my production design. Other work includes exhibition design for SOAS Brunei Gallery, Royal Festival Hall, South Bank and Brighton Museums.
I have qualifications in garden design and horticulture and landscape management from Plumpton College and the RHS, an MA in Museum and Exhibition Design (Lincoln Uni.), BA (Hons.) Craft and Sculpture Design (Manchester Met.) Post Grad. Production Design (Motley Theatre Design School and Trinity Laban) and a P.G.C.E in Art and Design (Brighton Uni.) I also have qualifications in Heritage Building and the Wildlife in Historic Environment (West Dean College and the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum).
