Rainy Williamson

Rainy Williamson runs Cherry Tree Willow in Ainsworth, on the border of Bury and Bolton, about 10 miles north of Manchester, where she grows over 14 varieties of willow and cut flowers and teaches seasonal craft based workshops.

Rainy has been growing and using willow since 2006, creating basketry items for retail and wholesale, predominantly for the floristry industry. She sells cuttings of some of her willow varieties, along with potted trees and woven living willow designs and is authorised by APHA to issue plant passports. 

With over 30 years teaching experience, Rainy offers a variety of natural, seasonally led, craft based workshops.

When not outside with willow or flowers, Rainy can usually be found knitting. She kept sheep for 10 years whose fleece she used for hand spinning.
