Cecilia Talbot, The Willow Hut

Blending  Somerset grown willow rods with those from my own ever expanding willow beds situated on our Cornish smallholding close to the North Cornish coast, I employ the same techniques and simple tools that have been used by Basketmakers for hundreds of years to design and make a selection of willow products, occasionally adding a contemporary twist. Each product is one of forethought, focus and attention to detail, my aim every time being to deliver a refined basket that is tactile, draws the eye and yet remains perfectly functional. 

Dates can be found on my website for basketmaking experience days which I run from my workshop and I am always happy to discuss private teaching or specific skills and techniques. I also host relaxed open days where my doors are thrown open for those who are interested to drop by and chat while I weave. Details for these can be found on my Instagram account.
