Wyldwoodwillow

62 Station Road, ,, Griffithstown, Pontypool, Torfaen, NP45JH Biography

I began weaving in the late nineties and within a few years finally felt like I had found 'my thing',

The rythm and feel of willow was addictive and I could not get enough, I was receiving requests for all sorts of different baskets and went into business as Wyldwoodwillow in 2000.

These days I am always busy and struggle to fit it all in. I still take commissions for all sorts of baskets, coffins, sculpture and garden furniture and fencing etc. but I also run workshops in all of the above teaching near home at Usk CAstle Chase and Humble by Nature and then further afield at Kew Gardens and The Sustainability Centre currently.

My passion at the moment is the rope weave basket and backpacks, and although I love everything I do -there is nothing better than getting into the workshop, lighting the fire and putting on the radio, sitting down and creating something new. Every basket is different. The colour and texture still delights me and fills me up!
