Exhibition in Wytham Woods: Indirect Signs of Presence | ‘Beneath the Surface’8th Nov, 2021
Current: until Autumn 2022
Curated by Sara Lowe for University of Oxford’s Wytham Woods, Indirect Signs of Presence is a programme of newly commissioned artwork and events.
Greet Blom, Andy Goodwin and Charlotte Holmes were commissioned to design and construct an installation of spheres representing pollen archetypes for artist Hermeet Gill who was inspired by the 10,000-year pollen history preserved in Wytham Wood’s Marley Fen to create the suspended work. www.wythamwoods.ox.ac.uk/article/beneath-the-surface#/
Woven in locally harvested willow, dogwood and hazel, the installation will remain in-situ for at least one year to observe it gradually changing throughout the seasons. See more images of this piece on Charlotte and Andy’s Willow Coppice.
