New Freelance Admin Officer Appointed

The Basketmakers’ Association is delighted to announce that it has appointed Sally Reay as its new freelance Admin Officer.
Sally has extensive experience of helping arts based organisations develop and grow. She is the founder of Bristol Creatives, a Director at In Bristol Studio and the freelance Finance & Operations Manager at Puppet Place Trust Ltd. She is also a keen designer maker, having spent 20 years running her own businesses as a silversmith and jewellery designer maker, and has recently qualified with a City & Guilds Level 2 in Basketry at Westhope College.
Sally is tasked with supporting our fast growing Membership Organisation, and she will play an integral part in the organisation, handling our day-to-day IT administration, events and communication with members. This is a part-time home-based role, working alongside the BA IT lead.
Responsibilities Include:
- Document management: Have a lead role in overseeing the organisations electronic administration (i.e. Google Drive). Create, organize, and store documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Communication: Administer incoming and outgoing communications with members to include:-
- Handle emails, and social media enquiries
- Mailchimp
- three yearly pdf journals
- interim emails
- collate and send out e-news
- chase and collate articles – e-news/ URLs…
- identify and collate dates for the diary
- Social media admin
- Liaise with content editors
- Create posts
- Website admin
- monitor
- what’s on section and approvals
- update help section
- contact us forms
- respond to requests to webadmin@
- engaging new members to use website
- blog and news posts on website
- removing leaving members from website
- supporting members with problems with the website
- monitor
- Event planning:
- Talks and AGM – Oversee recording, editing, upload to YouTube
- Schedule meetings, conferences, and events such as the AGM
- Supporting the events team with bookings/ Liaise with tutors
