‘Entwined’ Exhibition

The artists of Weave Only A Trace are now in their third year of weaving and creating together. They are returning to St Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury for a new exhibition entitled ‘Entwined’.

Nine artist-makers working in willow, rush, fibre and found materials will present collaborative works for an exhibition that explores individuality, and gives way to a collective vision. Entwined is about the interconnectivity and diversity of their work – inspiring new ways of working together, enabling an exploration at the periphery of basketry.

Throughout the exhibition, there will be demonstrations illustrating the diversity of the craft of basketry. The public will be invited to engage in handling the materials, and to explore the craft alongside the makers.

There will be further opportunities for members of the public to book on dedicated workshops throughout the ten days of the exhibition. This will include half-day workshops making craft items such as dragonflies, swallows and bird feeders, alongside day workshops making small baskets.
