Making an Oak Swill Basket – 2 discs

On Disc 1 Owen Jones demonstrates how to choose the tree and prepare the material to make thin strips of riven oak and on Disc 2 he shows how these are woven round the hazel rim, each weaver has its own name. Owen is almost the only maker of this unique basket which is traditional to the Furness area of South Cumbria.
