BA Spring School 2023: Chair Seating of All Types

Harrogate Ladies' College, Clarence Drive, Harrogate, UK
An opportunity to try various types of chair seating or concentrate on refining one technique. You will be invited to bring chairs for weaving or to try various techniques on small sample frames.
Whilst you will be using traditional materials and techniques there will also be a variety of non-traditional materials provided and opportunities to experiment with weave patterns. Materials will include cane, rush, paper cord, reel rush, seagrass and willow
Techniques will include standard cane pattern, special cane patterns, close caning, rush envelope patterns, Danish paper cord weaving, skeined willow.
Suitability: All levels
Cost of materials: In the region of £20.
