City & Guilds level 3 Diploma in Basketry course

This is a small group progressive basketry course which teaches a wide range of basketry techniques (traditional and innovative) and ensures skills of students are developed over a 2 year period leading to a City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Craft for Creative Industries.  This is an internationally recognised business qualification which will allow students to progress into employment in the basketry industry or to develop their own small businesses.

The course supports you to become a well-informed basket maker able to research and sample ideas and create well designed baskets to a standard which you will be able to sell.

You will learn the skills necessary to produce high quality traditional frame, stake and strand baskets concentrating on advancing oval work and square skills; and to produce more contemporary baskets using a wide variety of materials and supported  to develop your skills and experimental work.

We have some residential accommodation available to students who wish to stay in College during their course.
