136 Kingsland Road, London E2 8EA, UK
Join artist and cultural producer Rachel Attfield for a hands-on workshop exploring cordage and simple basket-inspired forms using plant materials.
Beginning with a display of plants, fibres and cordage samples and a short walk through the Museum’s Discovery Garden, participants will discover how ordinary and often overlooked materials can be transformed through making, and explore some of the connections between plants, everyday culture and practical skills.
Participants will create a small plant-based sample to take away.
Suitable for complete beginners – no previous craft experience needed.
Part of Museum of the Home’s What the Folk? festival.
