Hazel basket workshop – SOLD OUT – get in touch to be added to waiting list.

This workshop, run by Suz Williams, will introduce you to the endangered heritage craft of split hazel basketry. 

There are only a handful of makers left in the country and by learning this craft you will be contributing to the continuation of this knowledge.

Each weaver for the basket is cleaved from a hazel stick and the ribs are each hand crafted. In this workshop Suz will have prepared all the weavers for us but you will be able to try preparing a few yourself.

We will be using willow hoops for the frame/ribs of the basket and some plant fibres as inserts.

Workshop fee: £90 per person

Materials cost: £15 per person to be paid in cash on the day to the tutor
