A 2 day workshop to create this iconic shaped ‘hen’ basket using new season willow and prepared hoops. These are a traditional, very old design, Celtic in origin; it’s believed they were used to transfer a broody hen to an adjacent croft! Tutor Anna Turnbull from Biteabout Arts, in Northumberland, teaches the methods for this basket that she learnt whilst on a bursary with Jenny Crisp.

The cost is £170 for 2 days, to include all refreshments with home-baking and freshly prepared lunches with a pudding!

There is a material charge of £35 for the willow which includes the 4 pre-made hoops and is payable to the tutor at the workshop. Max 8 students.

The venue is in a renovated agricultural barn, now repurposed as a bunkbarn where the upstairs open plan living space makes a fabulous workshop area.
