Make a Functional Twined Bag – Online or Recording
By Mary Crabb
In this exclusive online class, Mary Crabb sets the challenge of designing, planning, and making a functional twined bag. This will be a great project for anyone who has attended some or all of Mary’s online twining classes with Ardington School of Crafts (or other workshops with Mary), who wants to develop their skills further and apply them to a specific challenge!
This project will use some of the skills and techniques from previous classes in a project-based make. We will be drawing on skills from flat to form, bases, warps, pattern with colour/weave and finishing.
If you didn’t attend some of these classes you will need a basic knowledge of twining in particular flat to form, bases, warps, pattern. However, Mary will be demonstrating the key elements stage by stage, and there will be some flexibility in the materials, scale, shape and design of your twined bag.
Please note that twining is a slow process; the project will not be completed during the two classes. Mary will provide all the information and skills required for you to complete the project in your own time.
Cost £87. For more information and for booking please visit the Ardington School of Crafts website.
This class is suitable for those with some experience. (The class will not be suitable for complete beginners – we plan to run the beginners classes again next year – please contact Ardington School of Crafts if you are interested).
