Midsummer Basketry Camp – Mollie Mcmillen

Molly Mcmillen is a professional basketmaker, bark and plant weaver. She aims to preserve and carry forward traditional weaving techniques.
On this course prepare for three days of exploration and experimentation into weaving with plant materials. Some plants we will collect from the farm, and you will learning about the variety of ways in which different plants can be gathered, stored, processed and prepared for weaving. Mollie will also provide other plant fibres to experiment with which will have been harvested prior to the course for your use. Expect to leave with one or two baskets made with the materials gathered and prepared over the course. This residential Camp includes all food, tuition, camping space, set within gorgeous communal facilities, all by the sea. If you prefer a bit of luxury you can book one of our Shepherd’s Huts, link on our website.
