Open Weave Wall Hanging Basket

Artist Christi York leads you step by step in how to create a beautiful, practical, wall hanging basket. Once you learn this open weave, twining technique, Christi will show a few variations. Originally found in an out-of-print basketry book, this project is being taught with permission from the original author, Hisako Sekijima. You may be inspired to go on to create less practical, but no less beautiful, sculptural pieces to use as home decor.
The projects will be shown using both commercially available basketry reed (centre cane), and hand harvested English Ivy. You can choose which material you want to weave with.
