Round basket course with Sarah Hatton

This one-day willow basket course near Cardiff teaches you to make a traditional round basket. You will weave the base, stake up the basket, weave the sides, and turn down the border.

The course is suitable for complete beginners and offers a relaxed, supportive introduction to willow weaving and basket making. Each stage is taught step by step so you leave with a strong, functional basket. The course covers key willow weaving techniques and gives you hands-on experience throughout the day.

You will enjoy learning an ancient craft in a beautiful setting at Nantgarw China Works Museum. The course runs from 10am to 4pm and costs £90 per person. All tools and materials are provided, along with tea, coffee, and cake during breaks.
