Round Bottle Basket with Jane Chapman at Broadrake

A new workshop for 2024 to create a partitioned basket, suitable for weavers with some experience. The willow used is reasonably thick so that the resulting basket is plenty strong enough for the weight of 4 filled glass bottles, whether that be with milk or wine! The increase in the use of the sustainable milk bottle meant that when Jane added this basket to her sale stock, she made over 30!

Cost £170. This includes all refreshments and freshly prepared lunches both days. Please note that there is an additional charge of £25 for the willow payable to the tutor. Max. 8 students.

The workshop venue is at Broadrake in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, in a renovated traditional barn. The first floor open-plan living area creates a very spacious workspace with original beams and inspiring views.

Our basketry workshops run over 2 days to ensure that there is no need to cram everything into a very long day. There’s nothing worse than trying to achieve the final tricky border or handle stages in a rush when tired and then having to drive home.

We can offer accommodation with sole occupancy of a bedroom for £28ppn plus £7 if you require full bedding. If you have a partner who enjoys walking, then why not book into a twin room and weave while they walk – plenty of low and high-level walks straight from the door.
