A 2 day workshop suitable for beginners to get to grips with the basic weaves used in a traditional English Round basket, complete with a handle.

Our basketry workshops run over 2 days to ensure that there is no need to cram everything into a very long day. There’s nothing worse than trying to achieve the final tricky border or handle stages in a rush when you’re tired, and then have to drive home too.

Cost £170. This includes all refreshments and freshly prepared lunches both days. Please note that there is an additional charge of £20 for the willow payable to the tutor. Max. 8 students.

The workshop venue is at Broadrake in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, in a renovated traditional barn. The first floor open-plan living area creates a very spacious workspace with original beams and inspiring views.

We can offer accommodation with sole occupancy of a bedroom for £28ppn with £7 for full bedding. If you have a partner who enjoys walking, then why not book into a twin room and weave while they walk – plenty of low and high-level walks straight from the door.
