Nantgarw China Works & Museum, Tyla Gwyn, Nantgarw, Cardiff, UK

Join experienced willow weaver Sarah Hatton for a two-day course making a traditional Welsh Cyntell – a beautiful and functional framed basket with deep roots in Welsh rural life. This distinctive basket is built around a round hoop, with ribs slotted into the weaving and a body formed using locally grown willow.

The course is ideal for improvers or experienced makers looking to explore traditional frame basket techniques in more depth. Sarah will guide you through each stage of the process so you can complete your own Cyntell to take home.

Held at Nantgarw China Works Museum near Cardiff. All tools and materials are provided, along with tea, coffee and homemade cake. Please bring a packed lunch.
