Small Hen Basket Day Workshop
By Karla Pearce
-
Neuadd Goffa Mynydd Llandegai, Unnamed Road, Bangor, UK
Join me, Karla Pearce, at Neuadd Goffa in the lovely village of Mynydd Llandygai on the edge of Eryri for a day of relaxing basketmaking. We will be making a small hen basket or Ose, thought to have originated in the North of Scotland, potentially in Skye, as this basket is known to some as a Skye Basket. It was used to carry broody hens originally, with larger sturdier versions used in the medieval building industry. Made famous by Brigitte Bardot in the 60s as a handbag, you can make your own Ose for any purpose you like!
We will learn how to lash hoops together and weave with compensation.
Saturday 7 February, 10:00 am-4:30 pm.
Cost £80. Materials and use of tools included.
Book your place at www.makeabasketwithkarla.com.
