Brian Crossley Chair Caning Workshop
By Ruthin Craft CentreDo you have a caned dining or bedroom chair with a seat that requires restoration? Bring it to the education room at Ruthin Craft Centre for an opportunity to to undertake this specialist craft under the expert guidance of Brian Crossley MBE, a second generation Chair Caner. On the first day there will be a brief presentation on the history and development of Chair Caning. Cane materials will be supplied at no cost, specialist tools loaned and a comprehensive set of notes issued.
The event is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience. There is no set course and all participants go at their own speed to suit the complexity of their chair. You will need to provide an image of your chair prior to the workshop.
