Chair Caning Workshops

For both beginners and the more experienced will take place during the final 6 months of 2023 on 7th and 21st July, 4th and 18th August, 1st and 15th September, 6th and 20th October, 3rd and 17th November, 1st and 15th December.

Workshops run from 9.30 am until 4.00 pm with a break for Lunch, in Burley Memorial Hall, Village Rd, Waverton, Chester CH3 7QN. The fee for each day is £30.00 including frequent tea and coffee. Please bring your own packed lunch.

This is the opportunity to undertake restoration of your chairs under the expert guidance of Brian Crossley MBE using Chair Cane, Danish Cord, Pre Twisted Rush or Seagrass, to suit the furniture you wish to restore.

Beginners are particularly welcome. There is no set course, for all participants go at their own speed to suit their ability and the complexity of their chair.  Most basic materials are available at cost and specialist tools can  be loaned.
