Willow Basket Making Workshop

Come and spend an enjoyable day and a half weaving your own unique basket from Somerset Levels grown willow. During this workshop we will concentrate on making round baskets, which is a really good introduction to willow work. There will be several different types of Somerset grown willow on offer for you to work with, and we will cover a variety of essential weaves and techniques. Everyone should have a beautiful basket, of their own creation, to take away with them at the end.
Tuesday 24th March, 10:00am – 4:30pm, and continuing on Wednesday 25th March, 10:00 – 1:00pm
Class size will be limited to a maximum of 6 people to ensure that everyone gets plenty of individual attention.
Venue: The Round Tower at Black Swan Arts, 2 Bridge St, Frome, BA11 1BB
The course costs £120.00, which includes tuition, use of tools, and tea, coffee and home made cake mid morning. You will need to bring lunch with you for the first day of the course, or treat yourself to something from the River House Café.
Both complete beginners and improvers are welcome.
Tutor Rebecca Board has over twenty years experience of making baskets and teaching her craft. She will guide you through the weaves and techniques on the course.
