Harley Gallery Talk: The Stories Behind the Baskets with Clare Revera
By Harley Gallery
Join basketmaker, exhibitor and curator Clare Revera at the Harley Gallery for a guided informal walk and talk through the ‘Basketry: Rescuing, Reviving, Retaining’ exhibition reflecting on its three themes. Drawing on her wealth of basketry knowledge and enthusiasm, Clare will explore the stories behind key works, such as the Llangwm Fisherwoman’s Back Pannier – traditionally made by the husbands of the women who carried them. She will discuss techniques and materials, and bring the exhibition to life, offering you a fresh perspective on this vibrant and wide-ranging show, just before it closes.
For more information about the talk and to book (bookings open 23 June 2025): https://harleyfoundation.org.uk/whats-on/event/gallery-talk-the-stories-behind-the-baskets/
The talk accompanies the Basketry: Rescuing, Reviving, Retaining exhibition. The exhibition forms part of the continued work of the Basketmakers’ Association’s Traditional Basketry Project supported by the The Worshipful Company of Basketmakers and delivered in partnership with Heritage Crafts.
