Perigord Immersion Masterclass

Over three days you will learn how to create the beautiful spiral French Perigord basket (bouyricou), a traditional basket used in horticulture from the Perigord and Dordogne regions in France. The basket is made entirely from willow.

Day one involves getting accustomed to the overlocking plaited weave and how to hold and shape the basket, focusing on the base.

You will then make your basket over days 2 & 3.

Making this basket requires strength, dexterity and determination. Leah Pybus was taught in the Perigord technique by Corentin Laval, Barie, France.

Please bring secateurs, large bodkins and a knife if you have them.
